Where Legends Once Cast Their Lines
Long Key has always drawn those who know where to look. In the early 1900s, Henry Flagler — the railroad magnate who stitched Florida together with his Florida East Coast Railway — established the Long Key Fishing Camp here, transforming this sliver of the Middle Keys into one of the most celebrated fishing destinations in the world.
Writers, industrialists, and adventurers arrived by rail to fish the same turquoise flats you see from this balcony today. The camp became famous for world-class tarpon and bonefish, drawing guests who understood that the real Florida was found not in the cities, but out here — where the water changes color and time slows down.
The 1935 Labor Day Hurricane — one of the most powerful storms ever to strike the United States — swept the camp away. But Long Key itself endured, and so did its reputation. What remains is the water, the fish, the light, and a stretch of white sand that has been welcoming those who seek something genuine ever since.
"The Keys remember what the rest of Florida forgot."

What Guests Are Saying
"We've stayed at many Keys properties over the years, but Long Key Beach is something different. The sandy beach is real — not rocks, actual sand — and waking up to that ocean view every morning was unforgettable. The pier fishing was a highlight for my husband. We'll be back."
"Perfect location between Islamorada and Marathon. We kayaked in the morning, fished off the pier in the afternoon, and grilled at the tiki hut every evening. The kitchen is gorgeous and the balcony view is worth the trip alone. Highly recommend for anyone who wants the real Keys experience."
"Took the kids here for spring break and it exceeded every expectation. The heated pool was perfect, the beach was safe and calm for the little ones, and we loved exploring Long Key State Park just up the road. The property is spotless and well-equipped. Already planning our return trip."
